This is- why haven’t I- oof. this friendship is v underrated
- I think when Soda got the bad news about Sandy
- I think Dally was like
- “Yeah, I feel that”
- And I think that’s just one situation where they’re in a similar place
- These two hang out a lot more than you’d think
- Soda’s like this goof ball right?
- And Dal’s that friend thats like “stfu” while he’s wearing a shit-eating grin
- Soda makes Dally smile a lot
- Like genuinely
- Kinda like how Two-Bit’s the only one that can make Dally genuinely laugh
- Dally totally takes advantage of Soda’s moments of restlessness
- They’ll cruise around town
- Or go fight some dudes
- Dally taught Soda how to play poker
- Steve tried, but Dally’s a better
playerteacher - Dally also introduced Soda to a lady friend he uses to be with
- They had fun playing poker…😉
- Anyway, I think Soda was cautious of him when they first met
- And he told his mom about it
- His mom was like
- “He’s probably a very nice boy.”
- “But, mom. He just fought three guys…and won.”
- Soda was really scared of Dally tbh
- But then he hung out with Dally
- They were talking about their girlfriends
- This was when he had first started going with Sylvia
- And Dally was talking about how he was really into her
- “So…you love her?”
- “No. I just don’t hate her.”
- Soda grins and Dally grins back
- And Soda was like
- “He’s not so scary when he smiles…”
- So he tried to keep Dal smiling
- The afternoon Soda found out Sylvia cheated on Dally,
- Him and Steve took him to the DX and tried to hook him up
- They thought they were helping
- It just made Dally mad
- He was sure that they thought he couldn’t get a girl himself
- i.e. why he’s a creep to Cherry that night.
- Dally hates lying to his buddies
- But lying to Soda kills him
- Like he’s usually good at lying
- But Soda can tell when he’s lying
Mrs. Curtis could do the same thing and he usually cracked when she’d question him- He tells Soda a lot
- Like Soda’s got the most tea on Dally
- But Soda’s good at keeping his mouth shut
- So no one but him knows that Sylvia was Dally’s first
and onlytrue love - They’re close bros
